Do you have to have the Logic Pro Program to use MainStage or is Mainstage a separate program you can use by itself?
No, MainStage 3 is available as a separate download from the App. Store for $29.99. It's worth every penny IMHO.

There is over 17GB worth content to download, which includes all of the GarageBand jam packs and all of the Logic plug-in instruments. I use it mostly in the musical theater context, and I haven't been disappointed yet. It is the best $30 you will spend on your rig. Check out the demos and such on Apple's page.
