i have windows 7 installed on my mac and mountain lion as well. do i need any anti virus for my windows installed on the mac

Yes. Very good idea to install antivirus on the Windows side. You do not need to install any on the Mac OS X side.
As Niel said, Windows is the same in all computers, and running it on a Mac is as dangerous as on a PC.
In order to keep your Mac protected in Windows, you should install an antivirus. As you have Windows 7, I recommend you to install Microsoft Security Essentials, a free and one of the best antiviruses for Windows. You can leave OS X without any antivirus, but on Windows the antivirus is a must have
