Can't input in Japanese on Safari

I can input Japanese characters when I go through the AOL browser but cannot when I use Safari. Changing the text encoding doesn't help. Any ideas?

Input Where? Some discussion board? If so, provide the url. Some of them are encoded as Latin-1 instead of UTF-8 or JIS. If that's your situation, Safari won't work, but FireFox will.

Certainly you have no problem doing Japanese here, right? 日本語

Good point. You can attempt to modify the encoding by going to the View Menu>Text Encoding, selecting the appropriate language setting. Usually, this setting is set to "default". If it still doesn't work, then as Tom suggested, use Firefox.
