    Hello..

    I spoke to soon..   Kinda..

I've now ported two more iPhones to my Wind account.

One Worked first try, the second is being a bugger.

My question is about the hex string.  When I search the log file I am finding 3 or 4 of them.

So I've submitted multiple strings, get the message that a silent text was sent to the correct number, but still no activation.

Did I miss something here? Or am I just to tired...

Also to clarify, should Facetime be toggled off until iMessage works?
And should I be using an apple id with it?

    Thanks

    Paul

You need to ensure it is the latest hex string from +447786205094. It has to be the latest one and it can't be older than 30 minutes. When I did mine, Facetime was on and I only toggled iMessage. I was always signed in with my Apple ID.

Your instructions were clear as day and worked PERFECTLY on my iPhone 5S (number ported from Telus). Thank you soooooooo much. It was driving me absolutely insane that I couldn't get it to work, and last night when I read this thread, I thought there was noooo way I could figure out what you were instructing. After a good night's sleep it was all very clear and very easy. I will be donating.

Just as a note to others, it took longer than 2 minutes for the activation message to go through once I turned on iMessage. The first time I saved the log that hex string wasn't there. I waited probably another 5 minutes and then did it again, and it was there. So if you don't see it at first, wait another few minutes and try again.

    Smcclay, THANK YOU again.

Developers on Wind - Please note that upgrading to iOS 8 Beta 1 has killed my iMessage and FaceTime, and although I can still send back the hex string response to the theonlinemac website, no activation takes place..

Either stuck on Waiting for Activation, or the response triggers my phone to send another SMS to the activation # in the UK which is a vicious circle..

As far as I know, activating using iOS 8 does still work. I did have to make a couple of changes to the website as the length of the string has increased. You should no longer see 'Invalid Input Data!' when using a valid string from iOS 8.

Hi, I too am having problems.  I got it working b/f when I had the Wind assigned phone #.  But, now with my old ported one, nothing, nada, nicht!

I've done the whole restore thing (I'm on iOS 7.1.1).  Tried the FaceTime only, and the regular iMessage way--still no go.  Every once in a while, i'll get a truncated hex string; e.g.:

GSM SMS Point to Point PDU (as hex str): 040b916140179004f000034160403265508a05d4329efe03

3463.565 pdud: Decoding using Encoding 0

3463.565 sms: MT SMS Message details:

    3463.565 sms: Message ID:          0

    3463.565 sms: Sender:                    +16047109400

    3463.565 sms: MC Timestamp:          Y:2014 M:06 D:04 @ 23:56:05 (Offset:-420, DST:no)

    3463.566 sms: MC Timestamp:          1401926165

    3463.566 sms: Source Port:          0

    3463.566 sms: Dest Port:                    0

3463.566 sms: Msg Encoding:          8 (BestGuess)

    3463.566 sms: Body Length:          5

You'll notice the wrong phone # there (7109400 instead of 8954734) I have gotten rid of the other iPhone number (7109400), which was there b/c I share the apple ID with my partner who also has an iPhone.  Since I've gotten rid of the other number, I don't even get the truncated hex.  I could copy or e-mail someone my log file.  I'm at my wit's end!

    Dave,

Make sure your new number is configured in Settings->Phone->My Number.

Thank you, but that part is fine. I think I'm going to try another reset when I get home from work, try setting up iMessage, then restoring from my backup. I really don't know what else to try. My logs keep having no hex string at all.

    David
