Wind Mobile Activate iMessage / Facetime

iMessage should work fine! I've had a new iphone since (still with wind/freedom) and set it up normally and iMessage just works without having to do weird things to get it to. If yours isn't working I'd suggest bringing it into a store and asking someone there to look at it

Incorrect. You may not get iMessage and FaceTime to activate on networks in which the iPhone is not supported.

The unlocked status doesn't matter. Wind Mobile is not a supported carrier.

In a very literal sense (if it doesn't work, it's not a 'supported' carrier) this may be true, but this response implies that carriers need to have a relationship (and official 'supported' status) with apple. That is incorrect.

You _can_ use imessage on carriers that are not officially supported and do not carry/sell the iPhone. I have used it on several.

I believe the problem has something to do with the carrier supporting the specific type of short SMS sent to verify the phone number.

I also do not have this issue with Wind Mobile solved. It's very frustrating.

I've spent days going over forums and Apple documentation on this issue. Bottom line, if you're with Wind, you cannot activate your phone number for Message or FaceTime.

So today, I spent hours on the phone with Wind and Apple to try and get to the bottom of the issue.

I had to go through rounds of discussion to prove all remedies had been tried and failed and that this was an Apple/Wind problem that would only be solved by them working together to identify the problem and fix it.

I persisted until I finally escalated the issue to the point where Apple is "opening a ticket" to address the problem with Wind.

They said to give it a few days.

Let me know what happens, kinda sad however cause wind has introduced nano sims for a while and they still haven't been able to make their network compatible

Same here! I think all of us should call them once again and pressure them a little bit. It has been 2 moths since the ticket was opened. :)

Also, I had to turn off the iMessage and FaceTime since my phone kept sending international text messages in order to activate them.

Well iMessage and Facetime are both working for me on Wind. I guess they must have fixed all their issues.
