Newest ipod touch (gen 5) can't have more than 336 pictures?

All right, so the "photos" that I have are mostly from applications such as WallpapersHD and HD: Wallpapers. However, it won't show any more than 336. I have about 11.1 GB memory capacity left on my ipod, so I know I have plenty of memory for the photos. So is it that the newest ipod touch can only hold 336 pictures? Otherwise I'm wondering why my ipod, though showing that it is downloading wallpapers, won't show them in my "photos".

What happens when you try to add more photos to your iPod?

The number is only limited by available storage.

Well since I'm doing it from an application, it goes to my camera roll (which I apparently can't move pictures from to another folder on there?).

They just don't appear at all. They still act as if they are being downloaded, but when I go to photos, I do not see any of them past a one picture (zelda master sword) when I've "downloaded" others.
