Q: I cant upgrade or replace itunes on 64bit Win 7 platform.  I've tried 6 times, following advice here and else where.  Removed all Apple products, spent 3hrs editing registry and still fail in the loading because I cant "remove prior version of itunes ".

My version of iTunes has been begging me to upgrade it for several months now.  When ever I tried I got a message that the installer package could not be found.  I got bold and decided to remove the program manually and try again. Same results. I have now searched and destroyed everything on the drive that relates to Apple. I've combed the registry for the same.  All steps from every help item, Apple or otherwise, have been exhausted... The next step is to put my iPod on Ebay!
