this forum is for installing windows on mac computers
are you trying to open an xps file on windows installed on a mac
or are you just trying to open an xps file on osx?
if the later
It's a Windows file, to open it on OSX you will need a converter/viewer.
It's $35.00 but there is a free version (that will only open the 1st 3 pages of any file).
or install libre office it's free and support xps files
Hi Rudegar, I'm looking through the current version of Libre Office, it does not list .xps as a supported format, is this an unlisted extra?
I found this information in another post,

A simple workaround: Upload the file to Google Docs (now Google Drive) and you can view/print from there or download to a .pdf file! Simple.
2 responders said that it worked for them, I'm still looking for an xps file to try it with 🙂
just double checked in it's open dialog and seems I were wrong
Yup, I actually found an xps file and tried, no luck with Libre.
But the Google Drive method seems to work.
I finally figured out how to download/install the original suggestion from Csound1, i.e. Here's one:
I did this, got the free version and opened my .xps files, no problem. THANX!!
You're welcome.
Don't pay for a converter.
Just send the .xps file to your GMail account.
Open the e-mail in your GMail account and click "view".
The file will be opened in your browser.
Select the option to print the file.
The file will show up on your Safari browser as a downloadable PDF.
This .xps mess is unbelievable. Microsoft is trying to supplant the PDF format and lock you into their horrible ecosystem. Seriously - the .xps format is an attempt by Microsoft to create their own proprietary format for a PDF document.
