Can I mirror my TV to my iPad mini?

I want to be able to watch my TV on my iPad mini. (Not watch my iPad content on the TV)

We have an RV where the TV is not in the most convienient position for one of us to see the screen.

We would like to be able to stream the TV content to either a 2nd Gen iPad or iPad mini.

I would not have access to the internet but could install a router and even an Apple TV if that would work.

I would prefer to do this wirelessly.

What you are trying to do is called "streaming" and yes, it can be done. You are on the right track in thinking that you need a WiFi source connected to the internet. Next, you'll need the iPad app from the content provider. Your ability to view programming will be as limited or unlimited as those two factors.

"Mirroring" is the term generally used for content that comes from the iPad and out to a monitoring system.

Where is the tv getting the signal from?

If the tv source does not have an app allowing streaming of live content-no you cannot watch what is on the tv on the iPad.

My problem is that I would not have an internet connecvtion unless I created a local network without an internet connection.

My TV signal comes fro a DitrecTV box connected to our TV. I would like to copy the TV ojutput to the iPad

I'm not certain that your TV is designed to work that way. I'm 100% certain that your iPad is not designed to work that way. The iPad recieves content from iTunes or from the wireless network.

Depending upon the type of DirecTV box you have with a router you may be able to send the signal to an iPad, I do it at my house using a DirecTV app. Contact DirecTV technical support to see if you have the equipment to do so.
