IPhone 5 cannot send imessage to appleid (email address)

Hi,


Somebody help me regarding my problem. When I compose a message using his appleid (email address) the Send button is green instead of blue and when I clicked the send button it sent goes to MMS which is bill is apply. Im using IPhone 5 (6.1.4)

You can turn off the SMS feature in the iMessages settings so if it cant send as an iMessage, it wont send as a text instead.


Once you do that, you wont have to worry about being billed anymore for the normal rate of texts. Some people can have their phone number attached to their Apple ID so even if you send it to their phone number, it will send as an iMessage. You can look at that by going into Settings>Messages>Send & Recieve At> and you will see any phone numbers and emails attached to the Apple ID which you can message to.


Try turning that off as stated above and try to send a iMessage to their phone number.

I had this problem when I was in London and Dublin a couple months ago. I realized I had to have the email address registered for iMessage and use my AppleId password to authorize the usage on both devices.


Try going to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive look at the persons applicable emails/phone numbers and it needs their email has to be in that list, if it is not just tap on "Add Another Email..." and you can throw it in there. It's not automatic that on an iPhone it allows the appleid to always be used for receiving.
