Is mobile unlocked a legimate website?

Hi everyone,

I've had an iPhone 4S with Vodafone for 2 years now and as I reached the end of my contract, I decided to upgrade to the iPhone 5 on EE. So anyway, I gave my 4S to my girlfriend so she could put her Tesco mobile sim in it. Unfortunately the iPhone is locked to Vodafone.

I called Vodafone to try and get it unlocked but they said because I don't have an account with them anymore, they can't unlock the phone for me! So I have stumbled across and unlock site that seems legit but wondered if anyone else has used mobile unlocked before, and if so, did the unlock actually work or is it a scam?

Thanks guys!

From experience of being scammed, I can only reiterate what has been said here. Only ever get it done by your network provider. I was impatient and when I searched Google, the site I used to unlock my phone was highly rated. I paid a 'pre-order' cost of £20 then another payment of £50 to actually unlock the handset. It never was unlocked but I did manage to get my money back via my bank when I raised a dispute.

Many of these companies are run by the same people and there are literally hundreds of scam sites out there.
