How do I stop the radio playing?

This may sound stupid butI cannot work out how stop the radio from playing when listening to a previously-broadcast programme from that programme's website. I have tried pressing the x button on the tab, and I've tried deleting the URL but it just keeps going. Can anyone help, please, and does anyone else have the same problem? Thanks.
