Hello dilarr,
You can follow this link: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1339
It will tell you step by step and it will solve your problems.

Hello,
You can try two things.
1.- (the most easy) go to Settings>Reset and follow the guide there shows to reset your iPod touch 4 completely.
2.- (easy too) Plug your device in to iTunes, in the superior bar you can search your device, will appear a screen showing your info, scroll down and you will find a button which says "Restore", follow the guide (this removes EVERY single file in your device,
Cheers.
Is there any way to just take out my apple id without hooking it up to the computer? I had to delete itunes off of my computer temporarily and I don't have access to it, but don't want to sell my ipod w/ apple id attached to itunes. The passcode is also saved and I can't delete it?
Hello again.
Just discconect from the Store.
The way to do this is so easy,
Go to settings>iTunes and AppStores>select your apple id>tap discconect.
That should bring your id out without using your computer.
The media on the iPod does not transfer with the sale of the iPod, You should go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings.
The Apple ID is used in more places than Settings>iTunes and App Stores
