Mac Pro RAID card battery in Xserve

Is it possible to use a RAID card battery intended for a Mac Pro in an Xserve?

The voltage and wattage of the battery are the same - so is the connector, the processor speeds of the two machines are the same. The only difference is the securing points, they are in different positions. Could I not just remove them from the battery intended for the Mac Pro and use it in the Xserve?

There is quite a delay in getting the exact battery, hence why I am asking.

The Xserve is an early '09 2.26GHz, and the battery is for a Mac Pro '09 2.26GHz.

It's the same battery but as you mentioned the mounting points are different with the Xserve having 3 points which fit over the screw holders and the Mac Pro having 4 and fitting on the Mac Pro RAID card.

If you can't wait for a new battery and it fits in ok then go for it. Just make sure you secure the batter with the adhesive strip it comes with.
