Q: How to Open Writings In Appleworks Circa 2000/2001?

My Wife has over a Thousand Poems she has written prior to 2004 and cannot open them ERROR Message is " This cannot be open ...created in earlier version of Apple Works.

Pages , Mac OS X (10.7.5)

Panergy Software's docXConverter v3.2 ($19.95) states that it can convert Appleworks 5 and 6 Word Processing documents to RTF, so that they can be opened in a variety of programs including TextEdit: I haven't tried this but it has been reported that it can only handle documents which contain only text, not those which include images or frames. It is Mountain Lion-compatible. There is a free trial:

If Pages will not open them then the only way is to get a Mac cica 2000/2001 with the same version of AppleWorks.

The documents need to be in AppleWork 6 forma to being opend in Pagest. If they are written in an erlier version of AW they can't be opened. AppleWorks doesn't work on MacOs Lion but do work on earlier systems.

Which version of AW do you have? Do you have a computer with earlier version of the system than Lion?
