For anyone interested I was able to get the Digi 002R working with Mac OSX Sierra on a MacBook Air (13") interfacing to Logic Pro X. It's pretty straight-forward. I downloaded and installed the latest Avid Family 003 Driver (11.1.5) which states using the 002/002R is unsupported and untested. I have an external ADAT Behringer port expander connected to the 002R and a final EQ connected via S/PDIF. If I run the driver before starting Logic Pro X all works without issue. In Logic Pro > Preferences > Audio set the input and output devices to the "(Avid 002 Rack)". For I/O Buffer I was using a much bigger value but was having issues and found that a value of 64 seems to work well. After this you can add all of your instruments using the generic port references for the Digi 002R until you edit the labels in the I/O Assignments in Logic Pro X. Connected to my 002R are: Roland TD-11 V-drums, Epiphone Les Paul, Takamine accoustic guitar, Ovation accoustic guitar, condenser mic, Korg X3 keyboard/surface, and two Mackie 450's for output. All have been tested and are working. I also use Amplitube 4 for the Epiphone and that is successfully enabled and working. Good to know that my older hardware which does everything I need it to is still working on a Mac with Sierra. Hope this helps...

It s a problem for me to upgrade from my late 2007 macbook Core2Duo 2,16ghz system running snow leopard and protools 7.4.2 through digi 002 rack, Command 8 and emagic Unitor 8mk2, to my new macbook pro i5 2,5ghz...

I chose this MBP cos it has both firewire and thunderbolt BUT... people told me digi 002 would only work as a 16 input channels. No way to use the ADAT inputs from the digi... And to me it s the most important thing : i need the extra 8 inputs and mainly use the digital mixer convertors instead of the digi 002 convertors. So haow about you? does the adat work properly ?

Another problem : command 8 seems not to be supported either.

so before buying logic pro x , i need to know if it s gonna work normally and completly : spdif, adat and analog input, midi /i/o AND command 8 integration.

I m not sure it might work either on Avid software ( a shame !!)

I m ok to work again with logic after my 7 years using only protools IF i dont have to buy another audio interface and another midi controller...

here is the link for the last driver :

here is a link for the command 8 drive rfor those who are lucky enough to have a protools 10

How is it possible that an "upgrade" finally results is a downgrade, as my new system cant match with the old one...

Unitor 8mk2 is perfectly working on 10.8.5 hop eit will work on 10.10 either...

I am running Logic Pro X on a Yosemite iMac with an 002r and I am experiencing constant heavy CPU load which is heating up my CPU's fairly quickly since once I launch Logic my CPU's run constantly and at roughly a 30% load. The interface still works but my iMac is getting too hot for my comfort in fairly short order. So keep an eye on your CPU load and temperature if you can - I recommend iStats. Based on what I know at this point I believe the latest Avid driver is not fully compatible with Yosemite or Mavericks, which is when I first noticed this behavior. I am looking into an new I/O device at this point. Good luck.

They say that they are for Mavericks only! Do they work on Yosemite?

I am about to buy the new iMac Retina 5k Mid 2015, it has 2 thunderbolt 2.0 connections in the back, and as you know the Digi 002 Control is a firewire 400. Can I use a FIrewire 400 to 800 adapter and then hook that up to a firewire 800 to a thuderbolt converter? After all this I still have to get the right drivers for the 002 to work on Yosemite and Logic X.

Any helpful tips anyone? 😕

I Have crashing hic ups regularly using 002 Avid 003 driver. I hoped to install El Capitan. Did u purchase new interface? Be interesting as to what you got. Digi 002 has had its fair use in my studio, maybe it's time for a new t/bolt interface, I did recently purchase a 4 metre f/wire cable with t/bolt connector to my Mac. Is there any impact by adding this extra length? Anyone?

logic pro X is a fantastic daw...just wondering how long I will continue to use if this keeps up....Sonar for Mac is just coming out v soon!
