All of the text in my downloads has been garbled in Safari on my Imac and youtube videos keep prompting me to download adobe flash player , I do but videos still won't play.
Can anyone help me resolve the garbled text first? Thanks.

and make sure your are not in the HTML5 trial. Opting out if you are included often restores normal YouTube function.
Is Safari fully upgraded? There are a lot of reports here of Safari 5.x not running properly under OS 10.7.
See if this sorts the YouTube probelm and then we can tackle the garbled text issue. Can you post a screen shot of a page thus affected?

When it's on the screen, press the Command, Shift and the 3 keys all at the same time. That will give you a png of your screen. Then insert it here, using the little camera icon in the response menu bar.

I checked , I am opted out of the trial. My Safari is 6.0.
At this time it seems the Adobe issue with Youtube on Safari has been resolved. If I come across a video that won't play I will be back in touch! I found using Google Chrome for videos works without any problems.

Sandy, it looks like you might have a Font Cache problem. There is an easy way to clear the Users Font Cache, but I would recommend you get rid of all font caches. This can be done easil through a "free" neat app called
YASU.

Just unclick everything but :
Clear System Font Cache
Clear Local font cache
Clear User font cache
After checking these three, click OK.
I use this about 2x year, and have found it very helpful. I only clear font caches if I'm having a problem, which you obviously are. I hope it helps you.
