I have an original airport express and just changed to a new comcast xfinity router. Airport utility now doesn't see the airport express. Have tried the reset button and still the new network doesn't see it. Am I gonna have to buy a new airport?
Probably not. Try temporarily connecting your computer directly to the Express using an Ethernet cable. Then open the AirPort Utility to administer it.
Nope. Still nothing with a direct Ethernet cable to the airport express. My iMac is connected to the new network, but Airport utility on it (and another computer on the network) still don't see the airport.
Try a hard reset on the Express.

Yes, a hard reset - not just using the reset button - did it. To do a HARD reset, unplug the airport express, wait a bit, then plug it in again WHILE HOLDING THE RESET BUTTON IN and KEEP THE RESET BUTTON IN FOR 12-15 SECONDS.
Similar situation. Want to use an existing Airport Express on a new network. I did the factory reset. Saw the 4 fast green blinks, and it's now slow-blinking gold. AirPort Utility, however, doesn't see any other Wi-Fi devices. "No remote AirPort Stations discovered." The AE is about 10 feet away from my Time Capsule. My MacBookPro is within 2 feet of the AE and connected to the Time Capsule network.
