As tonefox mentions its a Sim Ejection tool. A Sim card is a small computer chip that a cellular carrier uses to provide Internet to your device, like on a cell or mobile phone.
The Ejection tool is so you can remove the tray and isert a sim to get the service.
always good to read the manual:
Also, if you buy a brand new Apple product, there is a paper guide in the box which tells you about the Safari bookmark, and also gives the online address of the User Guide. The iPhone example: Fingertips
Please don't take offense, but I cannot believe that anyone who lays hold of an iPhone or iPad could believe that there is no documentation. These things are WAY more complex than the mainframe computers of the late 1960s. Go on - google "iPad manual"....
That is to open the SIM card tray.
On your iPad, if you go to Safari>Bookmarks (the open book icon at the top) you will find the iPad User Guide.
...fyi.
What is the context? Presumably it was not just a postit saying "pin is 1234". Where did you find it?
Or was it a SIM ejection tool, rather than a security number of some sort?
If the iPad was brand new, there was documentation in the box...
Yes a pin tool, with a picture showing the hole where it is to be used... But no explanation why or what for?
Thank you all! The apple package is so minimal and yes need to read the manual on line
