Does a 30-pin to magnetic converter exist

This might be a dumb question, or i am asking it oddly, but i have an 'old' ipad2, with a 30-pin power plug. The macbook pros now have a magnetic coupling power connection, as i understand. Is there an adapter that i can use so i wouldnt have to carry power cords around for ipad and mbp?

Actually it is not backwards. He wants to use the MBP power brick (45 watts+) to power/charge the ipad (12 watts). The MBP brick will be more than sufficient to charge the iPad.

I, too, have an older iPad and a newer MacBook Air (with the MagSafe 2 charger). I started looking for an adapter to convert the MagSafe 2 connector to the 30-pin connector on the iPad.

Lately I have seen a magnetic lightning charging cord (it does not look like a MagSafe adapter). Maybe it would be possible to find a MagSafe 2 to lightning adapter, then use the lightning to 30-pin adapter.

It's the first time an user mentions such an strange adapter. From what I know, it doesn't exist.

The MacBook Pro has got a MagSafe port which is magnetic. This port is used to charge your Mac, so it doesn't make sense to connect the iPad to the MagSafe port. If you don't want to carry a charger for the iPad, just take the 30-pin to USB cable with you and charge it connected to a USB port of your Mac. It won't be fast, but at least it will be charged

I suppose i did ask the question oddly.

I wasnt trying to connect the ipad to the magsafe port on the mbp. I want to use one power cord interchangeably for both ipad and macboook pro. The adapter i was curious about would have a male end of either magsafe with a 30in female end (using the ipad cable), or a 30-pin male end with the magsafe female end (using the mbp cable).
