settings for the selected device: the selected device has no output control

are my speakers dead? my computer gets really hot

could the wires have melted or something?

Is there a red light visible in the speaker out jack?

The internal digital-out switch inside the speaker jack might be 'stuck'.

Unless the internal fan is broken, it is highly unlikely that the computer got hot enough to melt anything inside and still be functional in all other ways.

i used a toothpick in the red light and fiddled around! 🙂
don't break the tooth pick inside!
