Can I use logic remote with a USB cable rather than wifi connection?
I don't have wifi in my studio. Has anyone gotten it to work with a USB cable?
Logic Pro X, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)

I don't see how this would be possible. The app is for an iPad, which has no support for USB. I could be wrong, though.
Do you have LAN? If so, get a wireless bridge, they're not very expensive.
No, that won't work. But you can use Ad-Hoc networking, making the Mac the "basestation"
This is actually very lame. Why don't they make an upgrade which would allow to connect the ipad logic remote with the lighting wire ??!! Please Apple can't be that complicated to do so people might have a choice!

You are mistaken..
The iPad does support a USB to Mac connection.. use the Camera Connection kit for iPads 2/3 and the USB connector for iPad 4s or later...to achieve this...
I use USB with apps like TouchOSC without issue...
Note: Recently I have been using an iConnectMidi+2 with my iPad and Mac.. which I have found to be a really useful Midi interface for the iPad.. and it also has Audio Passthrough... which is a really simple way of getting Audio back from the iPad into a DAW.. all via USB and the dock connector..
this seems so obvious!
does this allow logic remote to connect using the cable?
does this connection kit come with the ipad?
You can use Bluetooth
This seems like an obvious no-brainer for sure. Apple can't get everything right. Fortunately you can connect to your Mac via Bluetooth and use Remote that way as well.
Mine doesn't want to seem to know via Bluetooth (Logic Remote... The iPad pairs fine with the iMac, but LR wants to do things only by wifi ?!)
I tried creating this 'ad hoc' network ... it still wouldn't connect Logic Remote?!
