Is there a way to emulate the PC keyboard's Pause-Break key on a MacBook Pro when in BootCamp (or in a Parallels Windows XP vm)? Unfortunately, a legacy program used in many newsrooms (called Coyote) only allows remote access using an aging Windows-only program that makes extensive use of the Pause-Break key. Thanks.
Download and install the Windows 2003 Resource Kit Tools. There's an app in there called remapkey.exe that will allow you to remap any key on the keyboard in Windows XP.
Almost any key. Unfortunately, remapkey.exe in Windows Resource Kit does not include several keys, Pause-Break among them (also Print Screen and Scroll Lock), as remappable keys in its on-screen interface.
I'm running parallels and needed to use Ctrl+ Break for a cisco router. I was able to use the break key with the accessibility on-screen keyboard.
To run osk:
1. Go to start
2. Go to run
3. Type osk
