iPhoto on Mac not loading all my selected events/albums/pictures to my iPad ?

I am trying to load several events and albums from my Mac to my iPad. For each of the events or albums only some of the picture are making it to the iPad and

Many of the pictures don't show up on the iPad although they are in iPhoto on my laptop. In the sync process I do have these events and albums selected to go on to my iPad. There is plenty of space available on my ipad. Any suggestions how to get the missing pictures from my Mac to the iPad?
