iPad cannot read SD Card (64gb sandisk)

Here are the supported SD cards and image-transfer protocols:

• Picture Transfer Protocol (PTP)
• Mass Storage Device protocol
• SDSC
• SDHC
• miniSD
• microSD
• MMC
• SDXC (supported only when not formatted as ExFAT)

If the card is formatted as ExFAT then it won't be recognised.

The file structure on the card is critical. It has to be the same file structure as produced by the camera.

As above ,I had same problem with exFat ,you need to format as FAT32 .You may need a 3rd party win App to do so

Or if you have a computer and card reader you can reformat it quite easily.

I believe the iPad will only read 32GB and smaller cards.

You would be surprised how difficult it is to format a 64gb sd card from exFAT to FAT 32

However if you have a solution other than a 3rd party app would be delighted to see it ,assuming you have successfully achieved it first 😉

Don't own any XC cards, however when I insert a SDHC into my windows computer I can right click on it, choose format and I'm given the option of reformatting as NTFS, Fat32 or Exfat. Hence the suggestion to use a computer and see what reformatting options there are.

Others have also reported using their computers to reformat cards. If someone has a computer it's a handy and free option they can try before they go shopping for apps.
