Warbling sound on real instrument regions?

I've been using GB1 for quite a while now, and i recently upgraded to an iMac G5 PPC, and upgraded to GB2. Transfered all my songs to the new machine.
And now, i've been having problems with certian real instrument track regions becoming/sounding warbled. These are tracks that have sounded clean and clear after recording, and have sounded fine after many playbacks. But, out of the blue, they are starting to pop up all over the place in my songs. Today i noticed after mucking with my volumes points underneath a certain region, that that region became warbled sounding(some sort of artifact i supose). I've tried everything to fix the regions(locking tracks/unlocking tracks/permissions/moving them to new tracks/moving the track to the top og GUI), but nothing.
I have'nt messed with the pitch on any of these, cause i know that can cause this sort of artifact to occur.

Any suggestions?
Any one else having this problem?

iMac G5/1.5 RAM, Mac OS X (10.4.2), Max Plavax

I'm wondering if should just upgrade to GB3

Only if your main focus is podcasting, there really isn't much of anything new for musicians.

do you think that might solve the problem?

I would say almost certainly not. Yours would be the first case I've seen of this problem where it wasn't caused by a tempo change. IOW, it's not a bug that was fixed.

The only other thing I can think of is if an effect were added, but I'd think you'd be very aware if you'd added an effect --Hang B-(>

HangTime,

I've been playing these tracks with the same effects on them for a while, and never had a problem till now.

I just noticed something else that's really strange:
The effected regions(or after these regions become effected)will not join with other regions. It's almost like they become untouchable after they change, or corrupted in some way.
This is really weird.

HangTime,

Ok, after playing around with some regions today i figured out "when" it happens. It's after i join 2 regions together, quit GB, then open it that same song again, then to two regions i joined together are now warbled sounding, And they also shift around a bit and are not in the appropiate place on the timeline where i had them before i quit GB.

Also, GB does not allow me to join these regions with other regions after this happens.

Hello,

Ok, here's what i've got the problem isolated to, and please tell me if this is the way it's suppose to work in GB2:

In GB2 the problem occurs when i have seperate regions with blank gaps between them, and then i try to join them.

I use to do this all the time in GB1, and it worked just fine... after joining regions there would be just a silent space where the gaps use to be, but it would still join the regions together just fine, and everything would stay in it's proper place along the timelime.

But this does'nt seem to work correctly in GB2.
My fix for this is to record empty space, then use the empty space regions to fill in the gaps between my real instrument regions, paste them all together, then everything is cohesive, and works just fine.
It's more time consumming, but it works without destroying my regions.
