How do I change ownership of books from the ibookstore from my husband's to my account?

My husband gave me his old ipad when he bought a new one. I mainly use it for reading books. I bought a lot of books from the ibookstore, using my husband's log-in by mistake. Now he keeps getting them on his ipad as well, and it is annoying him. I would like to use my own account to buy books, but to access all the previous books I have bought, I would keep on having to change log ins. Is there any way I can transfer ownership of the books I want to my account?

iPad 2, iOS 6.1.4

You can't currently move or transfer ibooks (or any other iTunes downloads) from one account to another account, so those books will remain tied to his account - but as long as his account is authorised on the computer's iTunes that you sync the iPad to (I only have one account so I can't check) then you should be able to continue to have them in the iBooks app on your iPad
