Buying MacBook from other websites

Hi guys,

i just had a simple question and hope anbody can answer it for me.

I was trying to buy the new macbook air, and as many of you guys will know, buying it using other authorized retailers like MacMall or B&H is cheaper than buying it directly from apple.com.

But, i was worried whether or not the 1 year warranty still works if you buy the macbook using those websites. In general, i want to ask you guys if buying the macbook using MacMall or B&H is essentially the same as buying it on apple.com.

I read somebody's answer on yahoo saying that he was unable to get a free hardware(i think it was called a logicboard or whatever...) change because Apple said that he didn't buy the macbook using apple.com. He said he bought it using MacMall...

Anyways, my question is if buying the macbook using MacMall or B&H is essentially the same as buying it on apple.com.

Thanks in advance!

If you buy a new MacBook, it doesn't mind where you purchase it. It has got the same 1-year warranty valid by Apple and you can take it to repair at any Apple Retail Store if you want. Another thing is if you buy a second-hand MacBook, which will be possibly out of warranty if you don't purchase it from Apple.

Then, it's possible that the seller gives you more warranty years, but my experience with resellers and other shops aren't good with Macs. In this case, I recommend you to get AppleCare to get 3 years of warranty by Apple and get better support by phone and at an Apple Retail Store
