TextEdit left margin and pasted photos cropped

TextEdit does not allow me to move my left margin closer than 1" to edge. Also a photo of text pasted into TextEdit was clipped losing half of the text. Are these bugs?

iMac (21.5-inch Mid 2010), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)
