Yes; buy a Mac OS X 10.5 DVD from a source such as Amazon or eBay. Additional steps are needed if its CPU is slower than 867MHz.

Of course, always that your Mac is compatible with Leopard > http://support.apple.com/kb/sp517

Leopard isn't available anymore at Apple, so you have to buy it at Amazon or eBay. Make sure you buy Leopard in the black and purple box, that means that is the retail box.

Then, make a backup of your files, insert the DVD and follow the steps to upgrade. After upgrading, open  > Software Update, and install the most recent Mac OS X Leopard version.

Mac OS X 10.5.8 is the latest version for PowerPC-based Macs, so you can't upgrade to Snow Leopard or later. If you want to use a newer OS X version, buy a new Mac

Depends. If it has an 867 MHz or faster processor then you can upgrade to 10.5.8. You will need to look for a Leopard retail installer set on eBay or Amazon. They are no longer sold by Apple. Be sure you only purchase a retail set of discs. Do not buy OEM gray labeled products or so-called "universal" installers.
