My first suggestion is that you continue this discussion in the thread you started earlier. Post it as a reply to Wayne's response to you. That'll save everyone, including you, from answering things twice and haing to keep track of two threads.

Well, why can you be so sure?

As far as I know, there's no macro feature in Numbers 09 not to mention command button to invoke macro. Being unable to use macro is one of the major drawbacks of this spreadsheet application IMHO.

numbers 09 uses applescript for automation (commonly referred to macros, incorrectly i think). But you use the standard method of using the applescript menu, scripts saved as applications, or running from teh applescript program to run them, you cannot assign to buttons on the screen.

AppleScript scripts are mere external gears for Numbers.app and cannot be integrated with Numbers documents in any ways as macros can be with Excel documents. To put it differently, AppleScript script is NOT run in Numbers.app, and only if Numbers implemented its own AppleScript run-time environment as Filemaker Pro does for its AppleScript step, AppleScript for Numbers could have been compared with macro for Excel.
