Is anyone else finding the Grid snapping very annoying?

A lot of times when I try to bring in an audio file (Snare), it goes directly to the 1 but when I try to drag to the 3 or 2, itll bee just a smidge off and I have to zoom in a ton just to get it to line up. I have the grid on smart and Ive tried changing the grid to all the other options but they still snap to offbeat marks.

Same with the cycle function too..

Guys, i know it's an obvious thing to say, but are you using relative or absolute snap positioning? Try Absolute if you're having problems and want everything you drag to pop to the nearest increment that you have selected.

So I'm in version 10.2.4 and can tell you this issue still has NOT been fixed! Turning off alignment grid doesn't work! Absolute Relative grid doesn't work! Changing the Smart snap to beat division tick EST CST PMT GMT doesn't work! If I'm copying and dragging like 40 4 3 1 it will snap to 41 1 1 1! Every time without fail which is perfect! Perfectly wrong! I see Cubase in my future if this persists or it's back to LP 9!

Yes Very MUCH! But that's not as annoying as having random copies of loops being slightly shorten or moved off the grid for no reason. Something with the zoom command is causing them to resize or float off the grid causing terrible timing issues. I been playing around with this for about 2 hours. I found using the Loop is the best work around for now. If I have too many copies of an audio loop or midi loop, say 4 bars long, on a track, they tend to push each other or shorten other loops. Its really random but reproducable over time. I have not tried a clean project yet. Someone said apple is aware of this and to delete your logic 9 and X preferences then log in as a new user.

Are people actually making music like this?

I have the same problem and it's driving me insane. Regions never snap to where I want them... or rather where they should naturally want to snap. They are always a few ticks off like at 1.1.17 instead of 1.1.1 which is a total time waist to have to manuall zoom way in every time and nudge them to the correct place.

I wiped my entire OS X and reinstalled LPX and did not install LP9 in case shared preferences was causing the bug and the problem persists, even with the 10.0.1 update. Huge bummer.

I unchecked the Aligment Guides and nothing happen. Still the snap is no in right place. Everytime when i made a beats example, i have to zoom in and all ticks have to manually correctly place. In LP9 i dont have this problem.

I tried everything but not solved. I am really sad about this in LPX. I tired the all snap version, the absolute value, automation absolute value, but nothing....

The function absolute/relative snap does not make a difference. Activating one or the other will end up to the same problem.

As others described it before. To copy an audio file or an exact lenghts of a midi file mostly ends up into few ticks before or after the snap/Grid. The pic shows an example I just printed after copying files in the arrangement window.User uploaded file

This fault you are only able to see when you zoom into the arrangement completely. For this shot I used the maximum zoom.
