Why did my iPhone charger stop working

I have a 2 block iPhone charger with 2 cords. I used one in favor of it and then it stopped working. I tried to other and it worked fine. I switched the plugs a bunch and switched the cords with one another but now it did nothing. The block is fine and I think it is just the cord. This happened 1 week after its purchase.
