new iPhone5 not synching with existing iTunes

Hi everyone,

I recently got a new iPhone and it is not synching to my current iTunes.

What should I do?

Not syncing in what way? The device doesn't show up in the device list? It does, but when you try to sync, it... freezes, gives up, crashes, gives an error message....? Did it ever sync?
