How can I get my Mac laptop FCPX Events Library to see my external drives? Yes it is formatted Mac-OS-Extended (Journaled).
Final Cut Pro X, Mac OS X (10.7.5)
Is it a clone of another drive? Can you post a screen shot of the root level of the drive?
Notice the Event Library does not recognize the USB external drive.
Do you have drive display turned on in the gear popup in the event library? I don't see the events open on the drive. Are all the events that appear in the library on the internal drive?
I do not seem to have that as an option. Attached is a screen shot with the gear popup open. I simply copied the event and projct folders from my desktop so I could contiue working while on a trip with my laptop.
The first item in the popup Group Events by Disk. Check it on.
Hey Tom,,, you did it. Thank you. It worked. Now my Event Library can see my external drive. So next question,,,,,, can I keep a complete project and event library on the external drive so I can plug it in at home and work on it , then plug it in my lap top and continue working on it while away from home.
Yes. And as a precuation, you should backup that drive often.
Great !!! I had become used to that with the old Final Cut and without the know-how to perform that type workflow in the new Final Cut, my progress has slowed to a snails pace. I thank the community for getting be back on track. Now I must follow thru and figure out that process. Be aware more questions may come up.
