My Macbook Pro (Late 2011) is running slow for a week now.

I notice this by huge FPS drops in games (from 70 FPS to around 25 now) as well as incredibly slow system animations (Mission Control, etc.).

Activity Monitor does not show anything strange (80% CPU & 50% RAM unused) and I have not changed the system in the past weeks.

However I have noticed high temperatures of my Macbook and the fans have been running more often than before.

I have resetted nvram, pram and smc already. Any ideas?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.5)
