Run Windows 8 on MBP 2010?

I have a 2010 Macbook Pro running Windows 8. Since its 2010, Boot Camp 5 is not compatible with it. Therefore I am currently running Boot Camp 4, but there are some issues (brightness, doesn't turn off when I close it, sleep function doesn't work).

I would like to know if its possible to run Boot Camp 5 on my computer, or if I just have to manually fix issues without Boot Camp 5 by just downloading newer drivers meant for Windows 8.

AFAIK, BC 5 requires ML, so you'd have to upgrade the OS.

Look here for your 2010 Macbook Pro. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5634 You will notice that Windows 8 is not compatable with your computer.

So does that mean I should remove Windows 8, and install Windows 7 if I want to use Windows at all? Or is there a way to bypass the restriction and install Boot Camp 5 anyways?

If you want it to run reliably.

Problem is yours is a 13" model, which I had overlooked in my previous reply. Those things have very poor graphics hardware, that probably accounts for the incompatibility. If you examine Bob's link, the 2010 15" and 17" models are supported for 64-bit Win8.

It means Windows 8 is not the correct version of Windows for your computer.
