I haven't been able to turn on my Macbook since I shut it down a few days ago.

I turned my Macbook off a few days ago and it was perfoming normally when I did. The next morning I went to turn it on and it just wouldn't go on. I tried absolutely everything, including resetting the SMC. Despite not turning on, when I plug it in to charge the battery indicator lights all light up and stay lit up, but the last one flashes. What does this mean? I can't find anything about on the battery indicator page.

I have a early 2008 black Macbook.

Please help!

No, nothing at all. The only activity is when I plug the charger in and the battery indicator lights do as I described.

I would recommend a trip to the nearest Apple Store or AASP for a proper diagnosis, but it generally isn't good when they won't do anything at all.

Is this the exact procedure you used to reset the SMC?

Shut down the computer.

Disconnect the MagSafe power adapter from the computer, if it's connected.

Remove the battery.

Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.

Release the power button.

Reconnect the battery and MagSafe power adapter.

Press the power button to turn on the computer
