Pixelated MMS

I have the 4s and when I tape a video and send it to any other user, it becomes smaller and pixelated. Also when I receive a MMS from another user, it is also small and pixelated. I am uploading the latest IOS software on my phone now, and I was once told to back it up and restore it completel, but I have not because my husband has itunes on our only PC and I don't want the info to merge with his. Any ideas on how to receive clear MMS videos?
