Q: Nano 2nd Gen

My girlfriend just recently went to use her iPod Nano 2nd gen for the maybe 5th or 6th time recently. I have reset and restored severel times. The screen will stay lit when plugged in but when I unplug it screen goes dark and it freezes up. Any ideas anyone?

sounds like there might be a hardware problem with the battery, which is somewhat expected seeing that the iPod is more than five years old (classified as vintage by Apple):

you might need to explore third-party solutions for battery replacement
