Which HDMI adapter for imac 2007?

I have a wacom cintiq drawing tablet and need an adapter to connect the hdmi cable. I have already purchased two adapters for mac but neither worked. Can anyone advise me on which adapter i need? I have checked it in the stores but no where has one as my imac is 'old' (2007). If anyone knows exactly which type i need i would appreciate it
