Can you add a contact/list/group exception to the Do not Disturb option? In practice, is there a way I can have do not disturb enabled, but texts/imessages from my family/girlfriend will still alert like normal?

Thank you for the link! I will definitely do that. One would think the geniuses at Apple would have already figured this out, given that the company touts individualization and all that jazz.
And given that lots of people do more texting than talking.
