When using ultrabeat, the music always plays no matter where I place the sound box.

This is really really annoying. So I made a beat using the ultrabeat mixer window. Then I dragged my beat into the main logic sound window. I want a few bars of silence before my beat kicks in, but no matter how far I slide the new beat I created ... the music will play no matter what. What am I doing wrong?
