fifth generation nano does not respond

i have a fifth generation nano that i had connected to speakers and was listening to the radio. when i went to change the station the ipod would not respond at all and the screen would light up but was still playing the same station. i tried to charge it and connect it to my computer but it wouldnt connect to either but could still be connected to the speakers and would play. i cant connect to back up my music and i dont want to lose it all. what should i do. im thinking about bringing it to geek squad.

I would be concerned too if my iPod nano was having the unexpected behavior that you described. I recommend following the steps in the tutorial below. If you get to the step where you have to restore your iPod nano, it will remove the music on it. If you have the music on your computer, you can sync it back over to the iPod.
