slow to start on charger power, ok on battery power

Computer takes about 2 minutes to come out of sleep mode if powered by the charger. Unplugged the computer starts normally, ready to go??

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)

Reset SMC. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964

Choose the method for:

"Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
