My mail app has not been loading for the past couple of days. I've tried powering down a couple of times. I tried getting in through the settings app and when I hit the mail tab it closes the settings app. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks!

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray BEFORE doing the reset.
Hi James thank you for your response. I just did the reset twice, unfortunately the mail app didn't load. Is there anything else I can try?
Try deleting and readding your email account(s). If you have more than one, I would suggest doing it one at a time.
Whenever I select mail, contacts and calendars in the settings app it closes and doesn't load. It seems I can't get into anything mail.
Try turning off WiFi and/or cellular first.
Ok, I turned off WiFi and the app still doesn't load neither does the mail settings. I also tried restarting with the WiFi off and still nothing.
Only thing I can recommend at tis point is a full restore.
How do I do this? Will I lose information in the process?
You will need to do a back up before hand. Typically if you restoere from a back up, you shold recover any data, but it wouldn't hurt to take precautions first, such as manually off loading photos and documents. Depend on what you have on the device.
