Hi there, i been having trouble with my MBP, the MBP says that is Not Charging even connected with the MegaSafe, i was reading that the problem could be the SMC Firmware so i decide to look in Apple Support (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1237) but the SMC update is not listed.

Anyone know where can i donwnload it?, My MBP its the model ( MacBookPro9,2 ) [ MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012) ]

Hello ND491,

The blank fields in the table indicate there has not been an update for that device, but that was a great place to look to make sure it is up to date. Now that you have checked that, there are a couple of other things I recommend if you are not able to charge your MacBook Pro.

The first thing I recommend is resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) on your MacBook Pro:

Resetting the SMC on Mac portables with a battery you can remove

Note: Learn about removing the battery on MacBook and MacBook Pro.

  1. Shut down the computer.
  2. Disconnect the MagSafe power adapter from the computer, if it's connected.
  3. Remove the battery.
  4. Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
  5. Release the power button.
  6. Reconnect the battery and MagSafe power adapter.
  7. Press the power button to turn on the computer.

If your battery is still not charging, the next thing I recommend is troubleshooting your MagSafe adapter using the steps in this article:
