Does the iPod connect to other networks?
Does the iPod see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iPod connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

As I asked in my first reply:

Yes It connects to other networks, yes it see the network. it just says Unable to join the network
Since it connects to other networks and you restored the iPod that indicates a problem with your network. Did you do everything here:
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
Also try changing the security on the router, including using no security as a test.
Have you tried power cycling your equipment? Try unplugging your router AND modem and wait at least 30 seconds.
I have been having the same problem as everyone else with my ipod and my iphone unable to connect to my wireless router. After searching and trying every response I finally called my cable company a.k.a The Devil a.k.a Time Warner Cable. In less than 5 minutes the online support tech went via the internet into my router and changed the settings so now I can connect. He said it was a common problem with Apple products that they needed a different security setting to connect to the router. I have a Time Warner wireless router and I can't say this will work for everyone but you might try calling your ISP company and explain to them what's going on. They have probably run into it before and if you get a good tech (like I did luckily) they may be able to fix it quickly.
Thanks lllaass, it worked!
