White Screen of Death

My ipod video has a problem. It has a white screen and nothing else on the screen. The ipod is not even being detected my my computer, itunes, or ipod updater. Please help me. I sent a request for repair so will apple replace my ipod. I only had my ipod for less than a week.

Did you try holding the MENU and SELECT (center) buttons until you see the Apple logo to reset it?

Yes, I tried that. The only thing that basically works now is the backlight on the lcd screen. Do you think the warranty is going to cover it?

Try putting the iPod into Disk Mode...

And then try restoring it...
Restore the iPod

It may take several attempts to get the iPod into Disk Mode.

If you cannot get the iPod into Disk Mode, then the iPod may need service. The warranty should cover this, assuming that the iPod has not been abused...
