When saving a document in TextEdit, the default seems to always be iCloud. I have to manually select my preferred destination on my Mac.
Is there a way to set the default to be the Desktop, for example? I don't see anything in the prefs or Help.
Either turn of Documents in the iCloud System preferences, or run this command in Terminal:
defaults write NSGlobalDomain NSDocumentSaveNewDocumentsToCloud -bool falseTo switch it back, change false to true.

I used the Terminal command - had to log out and back in first though.
